We survived springing forward, pollen-mageddon, and a final taste of winter weather including snow in some areas after temps in the 80’s. Surely one of the great blessings of heaven will be freedom from the weirdness of earthly weather. Beyond all that, the Lord gave physical and spiritual strength to make it through one of the most full schedules of the past 6 years of itinerant evangelism. I am grateful to pastors Norman, Montgomery, Barton, Proffitt, Cornutt, Atchison, Bonham, Gravely, and Calhoun for allowing me to sing and preach in their churches. These men, as well as your pastor, are laboring in a very under-appreciated role. Let’s renew our efforts to pray for and support the local church pastor.
March saw me participating in two radio share-a-thon’s for WGCR Pisgah Forest NC and WZYN Valdosta GA. The amazing thing to me is that there were multiple radio stations that cooperated with both of these fund raising efforts. I was reminded that these ministries of the local church are part of the Great Commission, not the Great Competition. In each share-a-thon week preachers from various other stations/networks preached and promoted each other. The truth that was spoken over and over again was that these, and so many other listener supported radio networks, like WTBI, WKJB, REAL Southern Gospel, and WJGM, are all pursuing the same goal. Spread the Gospel near and far, locally and worldwide, so that some soul might hear the gospel of Jesus Christ and be saved. I am thankful for these and other gospel music, Bible preaching radio stations. Thank the Lord that these stations are on the air!
My favorite Christian holy day is this weekend, Resurrection Sunday!! Get up like it’s black Friday! Go to Sunrise Service!! Be like Mary who came “early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.” Celebrate the promise that because Jesus rose we shall rise! Remember that, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” (Col 3:1)
As we head into April and the coming months many miles lie ahead. Please continue to help us pray for safety, souls, and the touch of the sweet Holy Spirit as we continue to preach the Gospel, and sing praises to His name. If you are near any of the following places please join us in services.
