Many times through the years I have come to a pulpit with an ailment; sinus infections, stomach issues, headache, dizziness from high blood sugar years ago, and back pain.
Yesterday morning, I tried to squeeze in a quick workout first thing in the morning before I traveled to the Bristol Tennessee area in the afternoon.
I thought I would save time by skipping my normal warm-up routine. But in doing so I irritated old familiar spot in my lower left back. Many of you over the age of 40 will be able to identify such a spot.
I knew when it happened and I knew I was going to have a problem with my mobility. I immediately tried to stretch and apply ice packs to no avail. Adelyn even had to help me load my vehicle, but not without saying I should just cancel because I was hurting.
I told her that, even though she was so concerned for my well-being, and could not understand, I had to go. I had to just keep going.
I rotated between ice packs on my back and the heated seat seats for the whole drive, praying that the Lord would help me.
As I said on the front pew, I prayed one more time for the Lord to give me some relief and strength. When the Pastor called me up, from the first step to approach the platform I didn’t even notice but the pain and tightness was gone.
I sang a couple of songs and preached the whole time with no pain or tightness. I sat down on the front pew finally realizing how good I felt compared to how sore I had been just a short time before.
I am not a Holy Ghost hocus-pocus preacher, but I do believe in the power of the Holy Spirit. God alone deserves the glory for anything that I can do for him. He alone deserves the glory for giving me relief from something like a sore stiff back.
I thank God for all of you, Who faithfully pray for me as you see my traveling time posts. You will never know until eternity just how important those prayers are to me on the daily basis. Don’t Stop Praying! So I can Keep Going!
