WORSHIP

“The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.” Psalm 126:3

Such a simple acknowledgement. The great God of heaven and earth ONLY does great things. The fact that He does great things for us is worth recognizing. In such a neurotic depressed and mentally fragile society, we find very few people who are glad about anything of worth. A simple turn toward the Savior, a moment of Worship, a recognition of gladness over the great things like life, breath, and the love of the Lord, is completely in order and possibly life changing for the down and disheartened.

WISDOM

“Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.” “Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.” Proverbs 26:4-5

This is absolutely one of my favorite bits of Wisdom in Proverbs. It looks initially like a complete contradiction. Can’t you hear the Bible deniers gloating and prating over such an obvious inner contradiction. However, when you sit and think about your life and the people you have encountered, maybe even in your own household, these two back-to-back verses make perfect sense. “Answer not,” or “Answer,” is a matter of spiritual discernment, also known as Wisdom. You and I know people who cannot be corrected and are bound and determined to stubbornly and ignorantly stick to their ‘folly’ no matter what. Even if they are proven wrong to the face. However, there are also people who simply know no better and can be guided to better information and truth who will be instructed, even if it is a little embarrassing. It is the job of the Wise to make that realization as un-embarrassing as possible. The trick is to know yourself, and know who you are dealing with; a true fool or a fool who can become Wise. BUT REMEMBER verse 4. It is possible to misjudge the situation and look foolish yourself. Wise or Foolish?
